Ringtail Slimes spawn in the Starlight Strand. Not only are these creatures extremely cute, but they are easy to capture when you locate them. One of the most interesting new additions to the Slime Rancher universe is the Ringtail Slime. Use caution as stepping in the areas lava will damage you, but not the Crystal Slime. They are found in caves and in the volcanic section of the map. Their favorite food is the Odd Onion and they can be found rampaging around in Ember Valley. Luckily, these guys are pretty easy to feed and will happily gobble up any vegetables you throw them. Throw up a net and a high wall to ensure that they stay put. For this reason in particular, you really need to work on keeping your slimes sealed in their very on pen, but this can be tough when they are damaging everything around them. Of course, this will damage you and any nearby slimes. This is because the playful creature loves to make crystals erupt from the ground around it. Like in the first game, catching this money maker is a bit frustrating at times. The Crystal Slime, like most on this list, was present in the first Slime Rancher. This easily makes them one of the easiest slime species to care for in the game. Simply add them into a pond, and they will absorb the water and produce plorts. Best of all, you don’t have to do anything to feed them. This is due to the fact that the Puddle Slime is shy and won’t produce plorts if others are watching it. You will need to set up a pond that is away from your other slimes. They do need a special pen if you are wanting to keep them. Unlike their fiery cousins, Puddle Slimes aren’t harmful and can be scooped up with little to no risk to you. They are gently playing around in the ponds created by the waterfalls of the area. Puddle Slimes can be found near the Flutter Gordo on Starlight Slime. They are very similar to the Fire Slimes in that they must be found in a special environment. Puddle SlimeĪs the name suggests, this is a slime breed that is made entirely out of water. You will want to prep an incenerator in advance to ensure these little guys have a good home to move into before you go to Ember Island and collect them. Just be careful, as they can damage the other slimes on your ranch and yourself. This means that when you are burning up unwanted items and slimes, you will be feeding your Fire Slimes and getting plorts out of the process. This makes them pretty unique, though, as they eat a diet of ash. In addition, you can’t just throw them into a normal pen. You will need to exercise caution as these slimes can harm you, as can the pool of lava they love to call home. You will find them swimming around in the lava pools there and can bring them back to your ranch. They can be found in the volcanic zone of Ember Valley. This time they are far easier to get to in the early hours of the game. The Fire Slime is another slime that you may recognize from the first game. This can lead to unwanted Largos and eventually Tarr. Due to their irresistible sweetness, other slimes will be attracted to Honey Slime plorts from father away. One thing you should be careful about is leaving their plorts out in the open. Their favorite food in Slime Rancher 2 is the Mint Mango, and after putting a net on your tent, you won’t really need to worry about any complex escape attempts. It’s pretty easy to keep a Honey Slime happy as fruit can grow quickly and in high amounts. As you may have guessed, these sweet slimes love too much on fruits. The best part of them is their easy diet. You won’t have to go far into the island to find them either, making them an easy starter catch. This is a non-aggressive breed that you can find happily hopping around Starlight Strand. Their gooey consistency is nothing to sneeze at either at they can create tons of plorts for you. Honey Slimes are delightful little creatures that are made of honey. Just which slimes are the best ones to get, and does being cute effect there ranchability? The game already has a ton of slimes wandering around, many of which you will immediately bring home with you. Of course, the main draw to this game is the cozy feel it gives you and the cute slimes you are going to be collecting. Even in its early access state, it builds on the success of the first game and makes the gameplay even more addictive. Slime Rancher 2 is one of the most unique and innovative games to come out in the past few years.
